As a Module NPI Engineer, you will be part of the Module NPI team which manages the integration of DFx activities into the hardware product development schedule; assuring that each product developed sets new standards in terms of quality, reliability, and manufacturability., you will be involved with any number of hardware products under development in product group such as memory modules. The position requires a strong technical aptitude including an excellent understanding of DFx methodologies, high volume electronics manufacturing processes, printed circuit board technology, component selection, test and inspection methodologies, quality assurance and consumer electronics product development.
Responsibilities: Attend design reviews for all surface mount designs and hardware designs and provide input on manufacturability and produce ability to ensure the product can be assembled successfully through low and high volume manufacturing sites. Working with cross functional teams, aggressively identify design alternatives, processes, and specifications that will reduce costs while achieving required product functionality (i.e. alternative material and manufacturing methods) Participates in the preparation of concept and feasibility studies. Gathers operational test data and evaluates results; manages corrective actions. Import customer design files into Valor DFX software and generate reports for design and manufacturing teams. Create DFx models based off layout specification guidelines and update with latest design rule checks. Maintain SIG/MDG Layout and Array Specifications and coordinate updates to these documents with the global manufacturing and quality teams. Panelize all Micron memory products for SMT assembly and maintain the global array template library. Be the conduit between manufacturing and PCB/HW design teams, mentoring, coaching and mediator Responsible for enabling the manufacturing Technology Roadmap Global and in depth knowledge/understanding of all manufacturing processes (SMT, System Assembly, Test processes) Support design team with any necessary feedback and comments from first builds. Supports the design teams with any issues, including yield and test functionality/usability challenges. Ensure proper DFx procedures are in place and up-to-date. Qualifications: Preferably minimum of 5 years working experience in MNC manufacturing company Familiar with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements is preferred Familiar with lean manufacturing, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC concepts Good understanding of memory module assy/SMT/PCBA is preferred Ability to work both independently and on a team Knowledge of typical PCBA and product level failure modes (production and field.) Ability to relate failure mode to process, material and design related stressors. Familiarity with industry standards (IPC, JEDEC, IEEE, EIA, etc.) Familiarity with AutoCAD software is a plus Reliability and/or quality engineering experience is a plus Strong knowledge of electrical systems/circuit design, particularly test/debug aspect Demonstrated experience working as a member of a product development engineering team, either as a hardware design engineer or as a manufacturing engineer where a systematic design for manufacturing, design for test, and design for service approach was used and/or adopted Basic familiarity with Linux is a plus Good documentation and technical writing skills Good English communication skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
